RESOLUTION 07-62(S)
A RESOLUTION OF THE
WHEREAS, The Alaska Department of
Transportation and Public Facilities and the Federal Transit Authority require
the development of a coordinated transportation plan for the area in which
funds are to be utilized; and
WHEREAS, The Alaska Department of
Transportation and Public Facilities and the Federal Transit Authority require
that the plan have an endorsement from the local public entity; and
WHEREAS, The Homer Coordinated
Transportation Task Force has developed a Homer Area Coordinated Transportation
Plan; and
WHEREAS, The Homer Coordinated
Transportation Task Force is composed of individuals and agencies from the
Homer area who have an interest in public transportation; and
WHEREAS, Membership on the Homer
Coordinated Transportation Task Force was open to any individual or entity that
was interested in public transportation; and
WHEREAS, The process and meetings
held for the development of this plan have been open to the public; and
WHEREAS, The Homer Transportation Task Force request the
support of the City of Homer for the
following projects as this years priorities under the Homer Coordinated
Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS,
Independent Living Center (Homer) is applying for $60,000 to purchase rides for
seniors and disabled individuals from the State of Alaska Department of
Transportation and Public Facilities grant application due
WHEREAS,
The Ninilchik Senior Citizens, Inc. is also part of the Homer Area
Transportation Task Force, therefore the following is also recommended; and
WHEREAS,
Ninilchik Senior Citizens, Inc. is applying for $35,000.00 for the purchase of
a van through the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public
Facilities grant application due
WHEREAS, This plan leaves open the
opportunity for continued public involvement.
