RESOLUTION 07-63

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE OUTFITTING OF EQUIPMENT TO THE TWO NEW FORD EXPEDITION POLICE VEHICLES TO THE FIRM OF ALASKA SAFETY, INC. OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,268.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

            WHEREAS, The Request for Proposals was mailed from the Police Department to three Alaskan companies experienced in outfitting public safety vehicles; and 

            WHEREAS, Proposals were due by Friday, May 4, 2007 and one proposal was received by the Police Department; and 

            WHEREAS, The lowest responsible and responsive Bidder is the firm of Alaska Safety, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska submitting the lowest responsible and responsive base bid in the amount of $7,634.00 per vehicle; and  

            WHEREAS, Two new Ford Expedition Police vehicles are to be outfitted with equipment for the sum of $15,268.00; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by Alaska Safety, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska from the City of Homer. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby awards the contract for the Outfitting of Equipment to the Two New Ford Expedition Police Vehicles to the firm of Alaska Safety, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska in an amount not to exceed $15,268.00 and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents. 

            PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 14^th day of May, 2007.
