RESOLUTION 07-91

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A QUALIFIED REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS TO LEASE CITY LAND FOR TRACTS 1-B AND 1-C, FISHING HOLE SUBDIVISION, NO. 2.

 

WHEREAS, The lease for Bob’s Trophy Charters (Tract 1-B, Fishing Hole Subdivision, No. 2) expires on August 30, 2007 and all options have been exercised; and

 

WHEREAS, The lease for Sportsman’s Supply (Tract 1-C, Fishing Hole Subdivision, No. 2) expires on February 28, 2008 and all options have been exercised; and

 

WHEREAS, Both parties wish to enter into new leases with the City and have formally applied to do so under the provisions of Section 11.2 (F) of the City Property Management Policies and Procedures Manual (Lease Policies); and

 

WHEREAS, The Lease Committee has met on two occasions to consider the relevant policies and lease proposals submitted; and

 

WHEREAS, The Lease Committee considered information provided by the City Staff and the Port and Harbor Commission which considered these leases at its regular meeting on August 22, 2007; and

 

WHEREAS, The Lease Committee has submitted its report to the Council in the form of Memorandum 07-143, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council adopts the findings and recommendations contained in Memorandum 07-143 and finds that the alternative method of competitive bidding proposed in the Memorandum is in the best interest of the City; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to purchase appraisals on Tracts 1-B and 1-C and offer them for competitive bid through the qualified RFP process described in Memorandum 07-143.
