RESOLUTION 08-11

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR OUTFITTING THE JAIL TRANSPORT VAN TO ALASKA SAFETY, INC. OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,890.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, Sole source solicitation of a bid for outfitting the jail transport van was made to Alaska Safety, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska; and

WHEREAS, Alaska Safety, Inc. is the only company in Alaska that outfits public safety equipment and sells equipment and offers fast, efficient and professional installation services at reasonable costs; and

WHEREAS, Alaska Safety, Inc. has outfitted several police vehicles for the City of Homer and the Police Department has been very satisfied with their work; and

WHEREAS, Alaska Safety, Inc. submitted a bid in the amount of $7,890.00 to include equipment purchase and installation that is deemed to be responsive and responsible; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by Alaska Safety, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby awards the contract for outfitting the jail transport van to the firm of Alaska Safety, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska in the amount of $7,890.00 and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 28th day of January, 2008.
