RESOLUTION 08-112
A RESOLUTION OF THE
WHEREAS, The City placed a high priority on the protection of the Bridge Creek Watershed from development that would negatively impact the water quality of the City’s only water source; and
WHEREAS, The purchase of land within the Bridge Creek watershed has been a high priority of the City’s Capital Improvement Plan over the last three years; and
WHEREAS, The City has obtained access to a low-interest Alaska Clean Water Program loan specifically for the purchase of land within the watershed; and
WHEREAS, The four properties listed below are available for purchase (see attached map):
KPB Parcel ID: 173-66-010 Lot Size: 1.6 acres
KPB Parcel ID: 173-66-008 Lot Size: 9.1 acres
KPB Parcel ID: 173-66-007 Lot Size: 13.55 acres
KPB Parcel ID: 173-66-006 Lot Size: 6.95 acres
Total Acreage: 31.2 acres
WHEREAS, These four properties are native allotments and the Bureau of Indian Affairs has been working with the City and the current owners to transfer ownership of these parcels to the City; and
WHEREAS, The City has determined that these parcels are immediately adjacent to Bridge Creek and purchase of the parcels would minimize the potential that their development would negatively impact the water quality in Bridge Creek.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer,
