RESOLUTION 08-12

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION FOR THE NEW CITY HALL/TOWN SQUARE PLAZA TO THE FIRM OF SEABRIGHT SURVEY OF HOMER, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $23,500.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The City Council awarded the GC/CM contract to Jay-Brant General Contractors, approving their design team (including Seabright Survey) as the most qualified; and

WHEREAS, The City has determined that a geotechnical investigation should be completed as part of the 35% schematic design; and

WHEREAS, The firm Seabright Survey has completed their portion of the 10% design for the New City Hall/Town Square project, and has uniquely qualified staff to complete the geotechnical investigation; and

WHEREAS, Public Works has established a scope of work and schedule for the geotechnical investigation, and has reviewed and approved the cost of this work, determining that a reasonable cost for this work is $23,500.00; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by Seabright Survey of Homer, Alaska from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby awards the Geotechnical Investigation Contract for the New City Hall/Town Square Plaza to the firm of Seabright Survey of Homer, Alaska in the amount of $23,500.00 and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents.
