RESOLUTION 08-44

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE NEW HOMER WATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENT CONSTRUCTION PROJECT TO THE FIRM OF UDELHOVEN OILFIELD SYSTEM SERVICES, INC. OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,339,359.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS. 

            WHEREAS, The Invitation to Bid was advertised in the Homer Tribune January 16 and January 23, 2008, the Peninsula Clarion  January 20, 2008 and the Anchorage Daily News January 20, 2008 and posted on the City Clerk’s Project Internet Site; and

            WHEREAS, Sealed bids were due by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2008 and two sealed bid were received by the City Clerk; and 

 

            WHEREAS, The lowest responsible and responsive Bidder is the firm of Udelhoven Oilfield System Services, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska, submitting a bid in the amount of $8,639,359.00 for the construction of the new Water Treatment Plant; and 

 

            WHEREAS, The City removed nonessential components from the project which reduced the cost of the project to $8,339,359.00; and

 

            WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by Udelhoven Oilfield System Services, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska from the City of Homer

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, hereby awards the contract for the construction of the new Water Treatment Plant to the firm of Udelhoven Oilfield System Services, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska in an amount not to exceed $8,339,359.00 and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

 

            PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 24th day of March, 2008.
