RESOLUTION 08-93

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL AWARDING A CAR RENTAL CONCESSION LEASE TO ACTIVE CAR RENTAL OF HOMER, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $194.25 PER MONTH, PLUS 10% OF RENTAL FEES AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, Two separate Request for Proposals were advertised in the Homer News April 17, and July 3, 2008, the Homer Tribune April 23 and July 9, 2008, and the Peninsula Clarion April 20 and 27, 2008; and

            WHEREAS, Proposals were due in the Office of the City Clerk first on May 8 and secondly on July 22, 2008; and

            WHEREAS, The same two proposals from Active Car Rental and Homer Alaska Car Rental were received in the Office of the City Clerk for each advertisement; and

WHEREAS, The Airport Terminal Manager has reviewed the lease proposal as submitted by Active Car Rental of Homer, Alaska, for Car Rental Concession 124 and determined it to be a responsive proposal; and

WHEREAS, This lease is for a car rental concession with 10 car rental parking spaces, monthly rent for the concession area of 111 square feet is $194.25, plus 10% of car rental fees; and  

WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by Active Car Rental of Homer, Alaska, from the City of Homer, and from State of Alaska Department of Transportation. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, hereby awards a Car Rental Concession 124 Lease to Active Car Rental of Homer, Alaska, in the monthly amount of $194.25, plus 10% of car rental fees, and that the City Manager is hereby authorized execute the appropriate documents.
