RESOLUTION OF THE
WHEREAS, The
Congress of the
WHEREAS, A primary focus of the proposed legislation is to fund “shovel ready” projects that are investments in future economic growth, improve or repair basic infrastructure, promote “green growth”, and create jobs quickly; and
WHEREAS, The City understands “shovel ready” to mean projects that can be designed, permitted and ready for bid within 90 to 120 days after the President signs the legislation; and
WHEREAS, The City of Homer is experiencing an economic downturn, has a desire to create new jobs, and has plans in place to expand infrastructure and promote energy conservation and green growth; and
WHEREAS, The City wishes to submit a list of projects suitable for inclusion in the proposed economic stimulus package.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Homer City Council hereby certifies that the following list of prioritized projects have been thoroughly vetted by the Council and by the community through the City’s regular Capital Improvement Program process and are eligible for the Economic Stimulus Package.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council agrees to provide a local match for City projects not less than 10% of total project cost.
