RESOLUTION 09-117

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) FOR REDESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CITY OF HOMER WEBSITE.

WHEREAS, The current City of Homer website was originally designed and implemented in the year 2000; and

WHEREAS, Internet technology and capabilities have advanced tremendously over the last 10 years; and

WHEREAS, The current website is challenging to navigate, cumbersome for staff to maintain, and fails to offer the information and features that today’s users have come to expect.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Homer City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City of Homer to have an attractive, informative, user friendly website that utilizes up-to-date technology, features and capabilities; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council hereby authorizes the Administration to issue a Request for Proposals for Website Redesign, Development and Implementation.
