RESOLUTION 09-32

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACKNOWLEDGING LAMPANG, THAILAND, AS A SISTER CITY.

WHEREAS, A delegation from Lampang, Thailand visited Homer in May of 2008 and the Mayor of Lampang has expressed an interest in establishing a Sister City relationship with Homer and has invited a delegation to visit Lampang; and

WHEREAS, The citizens of Lampang and Homer share common interests in education, culture, and nature and intend to build ties with the exchange of delegations and in youth educational exchanges; and

WHEREAS, These common characteristics are believed to be well founded to the people of Lampang and Homer to be united under a mutual bond of sistership affiliation; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Lampang, Thailand is acknowledged and welcomed as a Sister City of the City of Homer, Alaska, United States of America.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 23^rd day of March, 2009.
