RESOLUTION 99-85



A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL SUPPORTING AREA-WIDE PROJECTS.





WHEREAS, a duly published hearing was held on September 27, 1999 in order to obtain comments on the areawide project of the City of Homer 2000 - 2005 Capital Improvement Program and Legislative priorities; and



WHEREAS, a number of such projects have an area wide benefit and should therefore be considered as priorities by the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Homer, Alaska that the following capital improvement priorities are identified as projects of area-wide benefit and are recommended to the Kenai Peninsula Borough:



Kachemak Bay Campus Facility 6,150,000. Alaska Maritime NWR/Kachemak Bay NERR 20,000,000.

Joint Headquarters Facility/Interpretive Center

Pratt Museum Exhibit Renovation - Phase I 250,000.

Chamber of Commerce-Visitor Information Center 100,000.

Homer Senior Center Independent Housing 745,000

North Pacific Volcano Learning Center 15,000,000

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby instructed to advise the Kenai Peninsula Borough of the above area-wide priorities for the 2000 - 2005 Capital Improvement Program and to take all appropriate steps to provide the necessary background information.
