A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE THE GENERATORS DESCRIBED IN PURCHASE ORDER 50446, FROM CHILL OUT PARTS & EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,894.

WHEREAS, the City of Homer's 1999 budget authorized certain expenditures by the Public Works Department; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to purchase two back up generators as part of the City's Y2K preparation; and

WHEREAS, Public Works has solicited competitive bids for this purchase; and

WHEREAS, bids were received by three potential vendors and it appears that the low bid is from Chill Out Parts & Equipment for an amount of $5,9894.000; and

WHEREAS, purchases in excess of $5,000.00 must be approved by Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:

Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to purchase the generators described in Purchase Order Number 50446, from Chill Out Parts & Equipment, for the amount of $5,894.00; and

Section 2. That payment is to be made from Account 200.5909.400 [Water Fund Y2K. Administration] in the amount of $2,947.00 and from Account 300.5909.500 [Sewer Fund Y2K. Administration] in the amount of $2,947.00.

Section 3. This Resolution takes effect upon passage.
