A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE THE ASPHALT PATCHING DESCRIBED IN PURCHASE ORDERS 50398 AND 50399 IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $13,165 TO THE FIRM OF HERNDON AND THOMPSON, INC.

WHEREAS, the City of Homer's 1999 budget authorized certain expenditures by the Public Works Department; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to do some asphalt patching to repair the area disrupted when broken water and/or sewer pipes were repaired; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to pave an additional area at Hornaday Park Playground for handicap access; and

WHEREAS, several areas on Ben Walters Lane need patching; and

WHEREAS, Public Works has solicited a quote from Herndon and Thompson, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Public Works crews will grade and prep the areas to be patched and Herndon and Thompson, Inc. will complete the work for $2.50 per square foot; and.

WHEREAS, purchases in excess of $5,000.00 must be approved by Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:

Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to purchase the asphalt patching described in Purchase Order Numbers 50398 and 50399 in the amount of $13,165 to the firm of Herndon and Thompson, Inc.; and

Section 2. That payment is to be made from Account 200.5202.404 [Water Fund] in the amount of $4,765.00, from Account 300.5202.504 [Sewer Fund] in the amount of $1,175.00, from Account 100.5202.175[Parks] in the amount of $805.00 and from Account 100.5202.173 [Paved Streets] in the amount of $6,420.00.

Section 3. This Resolution takes effect upon passage.
