2013 Governor's Family Picnic in Homer
The City of Homer is excited Governor Parnell chose our community for the 2013 Governor's Traveling Picnic. Please join the Governor and his cabinet on July 25th from 4 to 7 pm at Karen Hornaday Park for food and fun. There will be entertainment, great food, including local specialties, and family-friendly activities like face painting and frisbee.
The picnic is free to the public, thanks to the sponsorship of businesses and organizations. In addition to sponsor recognition printed on banners and promotional materials and recognition from the emcee, Governor Parnell will publicly thank the sponsors and acknowledge the generous donors that make the picnic possible. If you are interested in donating, including in-kind, download the donation form below.
We will also need volunteers the day of the event to help with parking, logistics, set up, clean up and a host of other activities necessary to feed a town. Please contact Katie Koester at kkoester@ci.homer.ak.us if you are interested in volunteering.
The City of Homer appreciates that hosting an event like this requires community-wide effort. We are thankful to have representatives from the Homer Chamber of Commerce, Best Beginnings/Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Senator Peter Micciche's office working together on the Picnic Committee to pull off a spectacular summer event.
