9_25_2017 Draft Capital Improvement Plan

Capital projects are important to the City’s ability to provide essential health and safety services to residents and a basic infrastructure for the functioning of our community and its economy.  Examples are water and sewer systems, streets and sidewalks, fire stations, police facilities, parks and port/harbor facilities.

Like many cities, the City of Homer has a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) that identifies new infrastructure and existing infrastructure rehabilitation needs.

Decisions made regarding the CIP are very important because capital improvement projects are generally large and expensive, and the assets they create will likely be required for decades of public use, often contribute significantly to quality of life and are often essential to the city’s future, reflecting how Homer will evolve in the coming years.

Attached is the draft of the City of Homer's 2018-2023 Capital Improvement Plan and new projects proposed for inclusion in the updated 2018-2023 Capital Improvement Plan.

Public Hearings on the CIP are scheduled for the September 11, 2017  and September 25, 2017 City Council meetings.

Adoption of the CIP and the FY 2019 Legislative Priority List is scheduled for the September 25, 2017 City Council meeting.
