Be first to know if there is a Tsunami Alert.  Early warning can save lives and give you the time you need to evacuate.  KPB Alerts is one way to ensure you and your family members receive timely and up-to-date information during a crisis. The Kenai Peninsula Borough Office of Emergency Management uses this system to send text or phone alerts to keep the public informed in the event of a disaster or other urgent situation.

To sign up for Alerts, visit http://alerts.kpb.us to register for the service. You will be asked to provide a contact name and the physical address that you wish to associate with the phone numbers you are submitting. The address must be within the boundaries of the Kenai Peninsula Borough, and will be used for emergency notifications regardless of the actual physical location of the phone at the time. Once your address is verified, you may add multiple telephone numbers and indicate if the numbers can receive text messages. In the event of an emergency, local officials will determine the physical area(s) to be notified and the system will contact persons who reside in those locations.
