How long is my seasonal fee pay permit good for?

The Seasonal Fee Pay Permit covers the whole time that the daily fee pay is in effect: Friday of Memorial Day week to Labor Day.

I just need to load my gear onto my boat, do I have to pay for parking if I'm only gone a few minutes?

At the top of Ramps 1 through 4, and at the top of the Steel Grid parking lot, signage designates "1 hour parking", designed in mind of those who need to load and unload gear from their boats quickly.

Do I need to display my permit in my vehicle? Or a daily parking receipt?

Nope. As long as you correctly input your license plate into the kiosk or online, you do not need to leave your receipt or permit visible.

I jumped on the boat and forgot to pay for my permit in the Daily Fee Parking Lot. Help!

You have a boat to catch, we get it. As long as you know your license plate number, you can pay by phone.

  1. Text the number 25023
  2. In the message type PARKHOMER

You will then receive a text with a link. Follow that link to input your vehicle information, contact information, and specify how many days you need to purchase. Then it will provide you with information to pay online.

I don't have time to come by the office to pay for my parking permit, can I pay online?

Of course! You can purchase any parking permit on the Homer Spit through the portal, except for the daily fee pay parking.

Daily fee pay parking must be purchased at the kiosk on site or by following the link posted on the kiosk.

Where can I park my RV?

RV's, or any vehicle over 20', can park in the Whale Lot and in the trailer parking area. The Whale Lot is located on the corner of Homer Spit Road and Outer Dock Road. You can park there for free up to 7 days, or purchase an extended parking permit if needed.

If you are staying in your RV overnight, you must use a campground. These parking areas are for day use, or for parking your RV while you are staying elsewhere.

I am a tenant in the harbor, do I get a discounted Long Term Parking Permit? How can I purchase it online?

Tenants in the harbor receive two discounted Long Term Parking Permits at $100 each.

If you'd like to purchase your permit through the online portal, you will need the account number attached to the boat that is in the harbor. You can find your account number on your monthly bill or call the office at (907)235-3160.

There is no discount on the Seasonal Fee Pay Permits for tenants.

What is the difference between the Long Term Parking Permit and the Seasonal Fee-Pay Parking Permit?

  • Long Term Parking Permits are for people storing vehicles on the spit: they let you park for more than 7 days at a time, between January 1st and December 31st of the same year in any lot that allows a Long Term Parking Permit.

How long can I leave my trailer on the spit for?

Boat trailers can park for up to 7 calendar days at no cost in designated trailer parking areas. Trailers must leave City property for a minimum of 24 hours before returning to the trailer parking areas.
