Lee Post is an illustrator and arts educator from Anchorage. Comics are a mighty tool for youth to explore illustration and storytelling. Lee Post has developed activities to work with a wide variety of students and ages. The tasks are non-competitive, allowing each person to create at their own pace. We'll begin on the first day by cartooning faces using simple shapes, experiment with forms and showing emotions, then end with some more complicated shapes and drawing games. During the rest of the week, we'll continue to build on those skills bit-by-bit to draw characters and comic strips using fun prompts that continually challenge the student's imagination. At the end of the class, students have stacks of silly comics, weird characters, and a love of drawing.
