Learn About Artificial Intelligence
Calendar Date:
What’s so important about Artificial Intelligence?
Given all the headlines lately, you might think that Artificial Intelligence is both the greatest tool in the history of humanity and a sign of the end of the world. You’ve probably heard stories about how AI will cure cancer, colonize space, and make us all rich — or how it will wipe out jobs, eliminate privacy, and kill everybody.
Join us at the Homer Public Library on October 10 at 6:00 pm for a discussion and demonstration of AI. Chief Technology Officer Bill Jirsa, Special Projects Associate Susie Inglis and Library Director Dave Berry will explore what AI is, how it works, and what it can (and can’t!) do. Along the way we’ll discuss the social positives and negatives of AI. We’ll also have a brief demonstration of AI tools already available and some time for questions from the audience.
