Background

The City Hall Renovation and Expansion Task Force approved by consensus to recommend the project scope for the City Hall building to be the construction of a two story addition located in the southeast quadrant between the existing building, the college and the storage containers providing approximately 4000 additional square feet of office, storage and meeting space; and renovation and upgrades to the existing building.

The City Hall Renovation and Expansion Task Force further recommended that the General Contractor/Construction Manager (GC/CM) method of construction be used for this project.

The minutes of the September 20, 2010 regular meeting are attached for reference.

A draft Request for Proposal (RFP) is attached for review.

Recommendation:

Recommend approval of the General Contractor/Construction Manager Method of Project Management for the City Hall Renovation and Expansion Project and Authorize the City Manager to prepare and issue the RFP for the design and construction of the City Hall Expansion and Renovation Project.
