MEMORANDUM 10-22
TO: Mayor Hornaday and Homer City Council
THRU: Walt Wrede, City Manager
FROM: Rick Abboud City Planner, Julie Engebretsen, Planning Technician
DATE: January 19, 2010
SUBJ: Ordinance 10-05 amending HCC 21.40.060, Bridge Creek Watershed Protection District
Introduction
This ordinance will allow “more than one building containing a permitted principal use on a lot” as a conditional use in the Bridge Creek Watershed Protection District. Currently, a land owner outside city limits in the watershed cannot build a second structure with a principle use (such as a second home, or rental cabin). This ordinance will allow all property owners in the watershed to apply for the conditional use, regardless if they are in city limits or not. All regulations protecting water quality, such as the limit of allowable impervious coverage, are still in place and remain unchanged.
The Homer Advisory Planning Commission recommended adoption of the ordinance at their January 6th, 2010 meeting.
Recommendation: Adopt Ordinance 10-05 amending HCC 21.40.060, Bridge Creek Watershed Protection District.
