Memorandum 15-152
TO: Mary K. Koester, City Manager
FROM: Carey Meyer, Public Works Director
DATE: September 9, 2015
SUBJECT: Award of Surplus Sale
Camp Fee Collection Cabin
The City Council agreed that due to continuous erosion under the Spit Camp Fee Collection building and the annual cost of maintenance, the cabin should be surplused. Public Works prepared bid documents and solicited bids for the sale of this cabin in accordance with the City’s procurement regulations (bids were advertised in the Homer News on August 13 and 20); four bids were publicly opened and read on September 3:
Richard Ferdinand Fritz Creek $ 4,778.00
Lloyd Moore Homer $ 1,623.54
Mike Kennedy Homer $ 777.78
Pam Fleming Homer $ 5,755.00
Pam Fleming of Homer, Alaska, was determined to be the low responsive bidder.
As discussed with the Council, Public Works will be evaluating options for providing a small building on wheels at Mariner Park to replace this cabin.
Recommendation: The City Council adopt Resolution 15-080 awarding the sale of the Spit Camp Fee Collection Cabin to Pam Fleming of Homer, Alaska, in the amount of $5,755 and authorize the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.
