ORDINANCE 12-55
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING AN ALASKA HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAM GRANT FOR DUI ENFORCEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, The Homer Police Department has received a grant for DUI enforcement from the State of Alaska Highway Safety Program; and
WHEREAS, The grant is in the amount of $7,100.00 and will be used for the Homer Police Department officers to conduct high-visibility seat belt and DUI enforcement; and
WHEREAS, The purpose of the grant is to reduce deaths and injuries caused by impaired drivers and to increase compliance with Alaska’s primary seat belt law.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Homer Ordains:
Section 1. That the City Council hereby accepts and appropriates an Alaska Highway Safety Program grant for DUI enforcement as follows and hereby authorizes the City Manager or his designee to execute the appropriate documents:
