ORDINANCE 17-11
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AMENDING THE 2017 OPERATING BUDGET AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF $9,000 FOR THE PURCHASE OF A PATHWAY SANDER UNIT.
WHEREAS, Public Works included the purchase of a pathway sander unit in their 2017 capital expenditure request; and
WHEREAS, The lack of this equipment and the inability to effectively sand pathways separated from roadways has generated complaints from the public of unsafe pedestrian walkway conditions (see Memorandum 17-031); and
WHEREAS, The City owns a “Tool Cat” that plows pathways and could sand pathways if a sander unit attachment was purchased.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:
Section 1. The FY 2017 Operating Budget is hereby amended by appropriating $9,000 from the Public Works Vehicle Depreciation Fund for the purchase of a pathway unit sander.
