Attend the Parks, Recreation & Trails Symposium
Greetings Trail folks!
The City of Homer's Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission is pleased to host the 2nd Annual Parks, Recreation and Trails Symposium on Tuesday May 3rd, from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Islands and Ocean Visitor Center.
This year’s Symposium, will have two parts:
Part I: After introductory remarks, we will break into 4 rotating workgroups to look at maps of the City of Homer, broken up into four zones:
WEST: West Homer Elementary to Main Street above the highway and Pioneer (and trail connections west and up)
EAST: Main Street to Homer High School to East End Road (and trail connections east and up)
DOWNTOWN: Pioneer / Lake / Sterling Highway - (Town Center)
COAST: Old Town / Ocean Drive / Kachemak Drive / Spit
Each table will present and solicit information on current efforts and partnerships in each zone. We will then prioritize potential projects.
Part II: Trail / walk / bike / recreation groups are invited to present current projects to the whole, especially if groups are looking for collaboration or have important updates to share. Please contact Louise Ashmun at leashmun@gmail.com to sign up for a 3 - 5 minute slot. Space is limited.
