Ben Walters Lane Sidewalk Project Complete!

Thanks to all who came out to the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of Ben Walters Lane sidewalk!

The Ben Walters sidewalk project, which consisted of drainage work, a new pressure reducing vault for the water supply system and 3,160 feet of new curb and sidewalk, was funded by the Homer Accelerated Roads and Trails program, or HART. HART is a voter-authorized program that dedicates a percentage of City sales tax to build new and upgrade substandard roads and trails.

The City thanks everyone who worked to make this project a reality -- Homer City Council, advocates for a walkable Homer, our Public Works Department and contractor, East Road Services. Thanks also to residents and business owners in the neighborhood for your patience during the construction period.
