Campground Host Needed for Karen Hornaday Park
The City of Homer Public Works and Parks Division is currently seeking one campground host for Karen Hornaday Park Campground, May 30th through September 2nd, 2025.
Campground hosts duties include:
- On premise oversight of approximately 20 RV camp spaces and tent camping area.
- Management of camp spaces based on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no advance registration system.
- Providing campers general information and basic rules of use for the campground
- General, light-duty grounds keeping
- Reporting non-conformities to the Parks Department or Homer Police Department
- Lock, unlock, and stock restrooms with supplies
Estimated weekly campground host service commitment is approximately 20 hours per week, but fluctuates based on demand and campground occupancy.
In exchange for campground host services provided, the City of Homer’s Public Works and Parks Division will provide one free, dedicated camp space (plus room for a commuter vehicle), a $100/week stipend, plus free service at the dump station at Public Works if no sewer is available at the camp host site, and a power hook up on site.
