Highland Drive Temporarily Closed At Bidarki Creek for Road Repairs
A steep road embankment along Highland Drive at the crossing of Bidarki Creek began to slough and erode during the winter of 2024/2025. The Public Works Department has been closely monitoring the area and contracted with an engineering firm to provide detailed repair design. A construction contractor mobilized on October 13 to begin work to replace the culvert and reconstruct the road.
Highland Drive will be closed beginning Wednesday, October 15, 2025 for the reconstruction.
Closure Details:
- Duration: Approximately 3-4 weeks
- Type: Full road closure of the portion of Highland Drive at the Bidarki Creek crossing – no through traffic allowed.
- Detour Route: All properties on Highland Drive will remain accessible throughout the closure; however ingress and egress on Highland Drive west of Bidarki Creek is restricted to Rogers Loop and Spruceview. Access to properties east of Bidarki Creek is restricted to West Hill.
- Emergency Responder Access: Emergency services have been notified and coordinated for this closure.
