Thanks to our amazing City of Homer staff -- equipment operators, building maintenance, Chad Felice from Parks Maintenance -- and local contractors, Jack Gist Park improvements are complete and operational in time for the kick-off of the recreational season!

Improvements include a new mobile restroom unit featuring three individual stalls with full City water/sewer service on a concrete pad, a completely rebuilt and expanded the parking lot that more than doubles capacity and drainage improvements throughout the area.

Also, when you are out there, you'll see a new traffic pattern to help with traffic safety. There is now a 3-way stop at the intersection of Jack Gist Lane and the ball fields to the south, and a reduced speed limit.

Special thanks to everyone for making this happen in time for the High School Girls Softball Tournament last weekend! That's a home run in and of itself!

COMING SOON: A second identical mobile restroom unit will be installed at Karen Hornaday Park; we are expecting to have it operational in time for Homer Little League's opening day!
