RESOLUTION 13-025
A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL URGING THE ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE TO ALLOCATE FUNDS TO UPGRADE THE FOOTBALL FIELD AT HOMER HIGH SCHOOL TO ARTIFICIAL TURF.
WHEREAS, The City of Homer supports recreational opportunities for its citizens; and
WHEREAS, The Homer High School football field is in need of upgrading; and
WHEREAS, The Homer High School football field is an important recreational and economic resource for our community; and
WHEREAS, The Homer High School field offers health benefits for high school youth and the community; and
WHEREAS The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly has placed the upgrading of the Homer High School football field to artificial turf on their CIP list as a Tier 1 project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, urges the Alaska State Legislature to allocate funds to upgrade the football field at Homer High School to artificial turf.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 11th day of March, 2013.
