RESOLUTION 14-117

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE HIRING OF AN INTERIM CITY MANAGER FOR A TERM NOT TO EXCEED SIX MONTHS.

WHEREAS, The City Manager Selection Committee was formed, comprised of Mayor Wythe, Mayor Pro Tempore Roberts, and Councilmembers Van Dyke and Zak; and

WHEREAS, The Committee was tasked with reviewing applications for the city manager position and to determine the best course of action for the City in the interim; and

WHEREAS, The Committee recommends that an Interim City Manager be hired to fulfill the leadership role while the Committee is considering candidates for the permanent city manager position; and

WHEREAS, Hiring an interim city manager that can work directly with outgoing City Manager Wrede will be beneficial for the continuity of city operations and provide an overlap of management for the incoming city manager; and

WHEREAS, The Committee will select and negotiate with the Interim City Manager for a term not to exceed six months.

NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, approves the hiring of an Interim City Manager for a term not to exceed six months.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of Homer, Alaska, this 27th day of October, 2014.
