RESOLUTION 15-020

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL REVISING THE HOMER PUBLIC LIBRARY POLICY MANUAL TO INCLUDE A COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT POLICY.

 

                WHEREAS, The Homer Public Library Policy Manual received extensive updates and revisions in 2012 via resolution 12-009 on January 23, 2012 but the Collection Development Policy was incomplete at that time; and

 

               WHEREAS, The Collection Development Policy has been prepared by the Library Director, reviewed by staff and approved by the members of the Library Advisory Board; and

 

               WHEREAS, The purpose of the Collection Development Policy is to guide the library staff in the selection of materials, and inform the public about the principles upon which the library’s collection is developed and maintained.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, adopts the revisions to the Homer Public Library Policy Manual, as shown on Attachment A, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein.

               PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 23rd day of March, 2015.
