RESOLUTION 15-029
A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE OLD HARBORMASTER’S BUILDING HAZARDOUS MATERIAL SURVEY TO THE FIRM OF SATORI GROUP, INC. OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,400 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, The City Council authorized in the 2015 budget an expenditure of $20,000 to remove the old harbormaster’s building; and
WHEREAS, Before the City can prepare demolition plan bid documents, Public Works needs to determine what hazardous materials may be present in the building (i.e. – asbestos, lead based paint, PCBs, etc.); and
WHEREAS, In accordance with the Procurement Policy, quotes were solicited from three qualified firms; and
WHEREAS, Quotes were due on March 24, 2015 and two were received (see Memorandum 15-054); and
WHEREAS, Quotes were compared and the firm of Satori Group, Inc. was determined to be the low responsive bidder and was found to be qualified to complete the work; and
WHEREAS, This award is not final until written notification is received by Satori Group, Inc. from the City of Homer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, approves the contract award for the completion of a hazardous material survey for the old Harbormaster’s building to the firm of Satori Group, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska, in the amount of $3,400 and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 27th day of April, 2015.
