RESOLUTION 16-091
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE DONATION FROM PAUL MACKIE OF A CARVED OPAL STONE SCULPTURE TITLED ‘BOOKWORM’ BY ARTIST ODRAF NKOMO TO BE PLACED AT THE LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, Paul Mackie, local resident, would like to donate a carved opal stone sculpture titled ‘Bookworm’ to the Library; and
WHEREAS, ‘Bookworm’ is sculpted by Artist Odraf Nkomo, from Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe, a fast-rising star on the Zimbabwean sculpting scene, whose works have been exhibited internationally; and
WHEREAS, The sculpture is fitting to be displayed at the Library as it depicts a person reading a book.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, approves and accepts the donation from Paul Mackie of a carved opal stone sculpture titled ‘Bookworm’ by Artist Odraf Nkomo to be placed at the Library.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 26th day of September, 2016.
