RESOLUTION 18-049
A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL, AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE GREATLAND STREET EXTENSION PROJECT TO THE FIRM OF CLARK MANAGEMENT OF ANCHOR POINT, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $597,078.73 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, Competitive bids were solicited for the Greatland Street Extension Project in conformance with the City of Homer’s procurement policies; and
WHEREAS, The project was advertised in the Homer News on April 19 and 26, 2018, and the Peninsula Clarion on April 21, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Two bids were received and opened on May 10, 2018 (see Memorandum 18-067 from Public Works); and
WHEREAS, Clark Management of Anchor Point, Alaska was found to be the lowest responsive bidder; and
WHEREAS, The low bid is not within the project budget approved by the City Council, Public Works proposes not awarding the expensive MMA Traffic Marking bid item, and substituting traditional paint striping, through a change order to bring the project within budget, and
WHEREAS, The award is not final until written notification is received by the firm from the City of Homer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, awards the contract for the Greatland Street Extension Project to the firm of Clark Management of Anchor Point, Alaska, in the amount of $597,078.73 and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents necessary to complete this project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 29th day of May, 2018.
