Upcycle - Pet Toys

A Summer@HPL 2024 Event!

Learn to make t-shirt yarn and then transform that yarn into a pet toy! Pet toys can be kept or the library will donate them to the Alaska Mindful Paws Animal Shelter. For elementary aged kids.

Gardening Workshop for Kids

A Summer@HPL 2024 Event!

Learn about making a garden and planting seeds with Saskia. Create a garden at the library and watch it grow all summer long! We'll learn how to make Pole Bean Tents.

Girls Who Code - Elementary Kids

A Summer@HPL 2024 Event!

Join us for a summer long coding club using the Girls Who Code curriculum — all genders welcome. Registration required. This club held in the Meeting Room every Thursday, from June 6th to July 25th, 2024. Attendance for all sessions is required - please attend all classes if possible because each lesson builds from previous ones.

For elementary kids, grades 3 - 6.

Girls Who Code - Teens + Tweens

Join us for a summer long coding club using the Girls Who Code curriculum — all genders welcome. Registration required. This club is held in the Meeting Room every Wednesday, from June 5th to July 24th, 2024. Attendance for all sessions is encouraged, but not required - please let us know if your teen/tween is unable to attend certain sessions.

Yoga for Teens and Tweens - July Session

A Summer@HPL 2024 Event!

In this 1 hour class you will learn some yoga basics; how to breathe in a way that helps you feel calm and centered, how to increase your flexibility, strength and balance with stretches, and how to focus your mind with very simple meditation techniques.
