We’ve created a community-wide initiative to read fifteen books throughout the year.  Anyone can participate, although the books were chosen with adults or mature teens in mind.

Resolve to read more in 2023!

Each book you've read (and reported) enters you into a monthly drawing for a prize. Any person who reads and enters fifteen or more books by the end of the year will be eligible to win the grand prize!

Canvass Board for 2023 Regular City Election

The Canvass Board is appointed by the City Clerk to review the preliminary certificates of election and all official election documents in accordance with HCC Chapter 4.35 Canvassing and Certification of Election Results. Canvass Board meetings are open to the public. The Canvass Board shall judge the applicability of absentee and questioned ballots, open and tally those accepted, and compiles the total votes cast in the election.

Absentee In-Person Voting for 2023 City & Borough Election

Absentee Voting in person for the City of Homer and Kenai Peninsula Borough Regular Election will be open Monday, September 18th through Monday, October 2nd.  Voters can come to the City Hall Cowles Council Chambers Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Election Day for 2023 City & Borough Regular Election

Election Day for the City of Homer and Kenai Peninsula Borough regular elections is Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Polls at the following locations will be open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.:

Homer No.  1, 06-230: City Hall Cowles Council Chambers, downstairs in the City Hall Building located at 491 E. Pioneer Avenue. Entrance is located towards the rear of the facility.
