In preparation for the Municipal and Kenai Peninsula Borough Elections on October 7, two organizations are hosting Candidate Forums in Homer.

The Homer Chamber of Commerce will have a Homer City Council Candidate Forum on Tuesday, September 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Kachemak Bay Campus building on Pioneer Avenue.  You are invited to join in person, or you can Zoom in at the following link:  https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83676687583. If you have questions about the event, call the Chamber at 907-235-2325.

Then, on September 18 and September 24, KDLL and KBBI radio, in partnership with the Peninsula Clarion are presenting open-to-the-public candidate forums at the Homer Public Library.

  • Kenai Peninsula School Board, Southern Kenai Peninsula seat - September 18 from 6 pm - 7 pm.
  • Homer City Council - September 24 from 6 pm - 7 pm.

You can attend in person, or listen to a live broadcast on KBBI AM 890 radio. It will also be streaming on kbbi.org, the KBBI app and the Peninsula Clarion Facebook page. This is a chance to meet the candidates and hear their views.

Have questions for the candidates? Submit them in advance to news@kbbi.org.

Several candidate forums are being hosted around the Kenai Peninsula by KDLL radio and the Peninsula Clarion, and in partnership with the League of Women Voters, The Seward Folly, KBBI and KSRM radio stations.
