Celebrate New Trails in Karen Hornaday Park - Sun Sept 24th

Volunteers work on footbridge across Woodard Creek in Karen Hornaday Park.

Thanks to over 378 hours of volunteer work by thirty Homer residents and funds from the HART (Homer Accelerated Road and Trail) Program, there are some new trails to explore at Karen Hornaday Park!

There's a Woodard Creek Nature Trail, and new access trails along Fairview Avenue and along the park's access road.

Join the City Parks, Art, Recreation and Culture Advisory Commission Sunday, September 24th at 2:00 pm at the Karen Hornaday park pavilion near the playground for a Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!

Take a brief tour of the trail along Fairview and its spur routes into the park; explore the Woodard Creek Nature Trail!  Afterwards, join back at the pavilion for grilled hot dogs, chips and cake!

Thanks so much to all the volunteers for their vision, hard work, time, efforts and caring!  Your work will be enjoyed by many.
