HVFD Recruiting for the 2017 Firefighter I Class Starting in October
Do you want to give back to your community? The Homer Volunteer Fire Department is now recruiting for its 2017 Firefighter I Recruit Class starting on October 2 and ending in December.
Our volunteers come in all shapes and sizes -- you just have to be willing to put forth the effort. Volunteer firefighting is one of the most rewarding experiences you'll ever have! If you like a challenge, are over the age of 18 (or will be by the end of the year), and are physically up to the task, becoming a volunteer Firefighter I is for you.
The Firefighter I Recruit Class , taught by fire service professionals, will meet every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6 pm - 10 pm and Saturdays from 9 am until 5 pm and will qualify attendees to take both the written and practical examinations for the State of Alaska, and National Certification.
