Open House June 6 for Pioneer Ave Repaving Project
Alaska State Department of Transportation is hosting an Open House, Tuesday June 6 for the Pioneer Avenue Pavement Preservation Project. It will be held at Cowles Chamber at City Hall from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Folks are welcome to stop in anytime.
The project team will be on hand to take your comments on the project (planned for this summer) and hear your knowledge of the road and issues you believe will improve their design. Their plans call for removing 1.75 inches of asphalt, laying down 2 inches of new asphalt and installing ADA compliant curb cuts at intersections. Plans specify that the work will be done at night to minimize traffic and business disruption.
The project team for the Lake Street Rehabilitation Project will also be at the meeting to answer questions about that project.
For more information you may contact Christina Huber, Project Manager at 907-269-0572 or christina.huber@alaska.gov or Anne Brooks, Public Involvement Coordinator at 866-535-1877 or comments.brooksalaska@gmail.com.
