Street Cleaning Operations
Now that the snow has melted off city streets, the Public Works department is conducting street sweeping operations to remove sand remaining from the winter season. Sweeping up the excess dust and debris on nearly 2o miles of roadway keeps it out of the air and storm drain system and makes the town cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing, and livable.
Street sweepers create dust when in operation, so drivers are encouraged to keep their distance and drive slowly. Pedestrians and motorists are asked to please be cautious around the equipment. Keep a healthy distance to avoid dust and injury or damage from flying debris.
To date, Public Works has been completing their sweeping in the early morning hours each day to minimize the impacts of dust on the community. Currently, they are sweeping throughout the day with both the pick-up sweeper and the vacuum sweeper.
