Changes to the Overdue Policy at Homer Public Library
Read! Return! Repeat!
Beginning September 29th, an account that has items in overdue status will be blocked until those items are returned or paid for.
Q&A
What does this mean?
With this change, your library card will be blocked if you have any overdue items. You won’t be able to check out or renew items, place holds, or log into the library’s electronic resources until the overdue items are returned.
What about automatic renewals?
Typically, eligible items checked out from the library automatically renew twice unless another patron has a hold on an item or the account is blocked. Overdue items will block your account, which will prevent other items from renewing automatically.
Will I be charged for overdue items?
The library does not charge money for overdue items! The only time you will see fees are for lost or damaged books.
