Re: Code Blue Grant Request
I am applying for a Code Blue Grant to replace our 1997 Ambulance through Southern Region EMS Council. The estimated cost of replacing this unit with a similar model and type is $170,000. The Code Blue Policy requires at least a 10% match from the community. In order to proceed with the grant application I need a letter from the City of Homer guaranteeing the 10% match of $17,000, if and when the request is approved. Based on previous Code Blue funding I don’t anticipate any funds being necessary in fiscal year 2013 as most vehicle requests funded take an average of 18 months to process. Due to diminishing funding sources for Code Blue I feel it unlikely that the regional office will be able to find other funding partners to complete this project but we must initiate the process in order to open other potential funding sources if Code Blue fails.
