SUBJECT: LETTER TO GOVERNOR WALKER AND ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE REGARDING THE EFFECTS OF BUDGET CUTS ON THE CITY OF HOMER AND REVENUE OPTIONS FOR THE STATE OF ALASKA.

The purpose of this memo is to approve the attached letter to Governor Walker and the Alaska State Legislature and authorize the Mayor and members of Homer City Council to testify in writing, telephonically or in person before the Alaska State Legislature on behalf of the City of Homer regarding topics detailed in this letter. Comments should be restricted to the sentiment and direction expressed in the attached letter, dated March 13, 2017.
Furthermore, per Homer City Council Operating Manual p. 5 “Lobbying Activities,” each councilmember, the Mayor and City Manger are expected to share his/her lobbying activities with the public in oral and written form under the agenda section marked Announcements/Presentations/Borough and Commission Reports.
