New Police Station Open for Business
In early October, the Homer Police Department completed their move to their new location at 625 Grubstake.
The City of Homer will celebrate the opening of the new Police Station with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 11:00 am. The short ceremony will be held outside the front entrance of the station and is a COVID-19 conscious event. Participants are asked to wear face coverings and maintain a 6 foot social distance from other attendees not in their family bubble.
At present, out of caution to prevent COVID-19 transmission, no open house or tours of the facility are being offered. The station's lobby is open for business and ribbon cutting attendees are welcome to go inside the lobby in limited numbers at a time. A virtual tour will be posted on City the website within the next couple of weeks. When we’re past COVID-19 concerns, the City will offer community tours (as we have traditionally done of City facilities.)
