Resolution 14-068 Contract Award to HDR, Inc. for Disinfection Byproducts Reduction Study for the Water Treatment/Distribution System

RESOLUTION 14-068

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL AWARDING A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT FOR DISINFECTION BYPRODUCTS REDUCTION STUDY ON THE WATER TREATMENT/DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM TO THE FIRM OF HDR, INC. OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,459 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS. 

               WHEREAS, Funds were appropriated in the 2014 budget to provide for the completion of a Disinfection Byproduct Reduction Study by Ordinance 14-25; and

WHEREAS, HDR, Inc. is considered to be uniquely qualified to complete the work (see Memorandum 14-096); and

               WHEREAS, The City’s Procurement Policy provides for non-competitive procurement of engineering design services; and

               WHEREAS, This award is not final until written notification is received by the firm from the City of Homer.         

               NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, approves a sole source contract for the Disinfection Byproducts Reduction Study on the Water Treatment/Distribution System to the firm of HDR, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska, in the amount of $18,459 and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.

               PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL this 9th day of June, 2014.
