RESOLUTION 19-010

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE DONATION FROM BRANDI EVANS OF CARY, NORTH CAROLINA, FOR A PARK BENCH IN MEMORY OF JOHNNIE AND ANNA FLOOD CONSTRUCTED BY WEST HOMER 6TH GRADE STUDENTS TO BE PLACED IN A PARK WITHIN THE CITY

WHEREAS, Brandi Evans of Cary, North Carolina, would like to donate a wooden park bench in memory of Johnnie and Anna Flood who loved Homer and were frequent visitors; and

WHEREAS, A bench will be a beneficial improvement to any city park and provide a place where visitors can relax and enjoy the visual amenities of the park; and

WHEREAS, West Homer 6th grade students will be involved with the construction, painting and/or staining and possible installation of the bench; and

WHEREAS, The Parks, Art, Recreation & Culture Advisory Commission reviewed the application and proposed donation and recommended the City Council approve and accept the donation and placement in a city park at the discretion of Parks Maintenance Staff.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, approves and accepts the donation from Brandi Evans of a wooden park bench in memory of Johnnie and Anna Flood constructed by West Homer 6th grade students to be placed in a park within the city.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council on this 11th day of February, 2019.
