SUBJECT:  APPOINTMENT OF COUNCILMEMBER FRANCIE ROBERTS TO THE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN REVIEW COMMITTEE.

The last update to the City’s Emergency Operations Plan was in 2007. It is time to review the plan to make any necessary changes or revisions. As the Kenai Peninsula Borough is currently finalizing their EOP updates and annexes, it would be a great opportunity to review those changes and incorporate any of them into our plan that are appropriate for our community. The goal is to have the update completed and submitted to the State by the end of May. 

Police Chief Painter has requested that a councilmember be appointed to serve on the committee. Councilmember Roberts has expressed an interest in filling the position.

RECOMMENDATION:

Confirm the appointment of Councilmember Francie Roberts to the Emergency Operations Plan Review Committee.
